It was released as part of the Del Prado World of Trains collection, which ran from 2006 to 2008 and featured 100 models representing landmark locomotives worldwide. The CC 6500 is Issue #36 in the Italian edition and includes accurate detailing, French flag labelling, and a labelled base. Designed for display, the model is scaled for compatibility with N gauge layouts.
